Where are the original thinkers, the mavericks, the game-changers? I am not one of them, but, like you, I am gagging for someone to deliver some original thinking around just how we all intend surviving the current diatribe of overtraded, recycled and already known.
The last paragraph’s link tells us nothing new, nothing that any of us already did not know before reading it. The only difference is, they’re getting paid, while actively trading on the lives of creatives.
For the past 30-odd days I have read countess clickbait-riddled headlines and copy from “professionals” in their respective industries, keen to impart their pearls of wisdom on the world, most often at zero cost… What message does that send to the market?
Clear desperation, and a sharper indication of a levelling of the playing field where doers and players are finally set apart. The only people currently getting properly paid (on new money, not old) are those effecting change, not trading in an already overtraded market.
If you have nothing new to add, something of actual consequence, say nothing and rather use the time better to try and achieve something of substance. The world is already filled with far too many “professionals” plying their trade in a market already desperate, susceptible and punch-drunk on information overload.
If you truly have something of real, measurable consequence to add to the current reality, great! Lean in and share. If you don’t, please do us all a favour, stop blowing smoke-filled false promises into your LinkedIn and Facebook profiles where so many pray for figurative rain.
I see you and watch you… It’s embarrassing and telling at best. A lot like Trump-run America. Do you not think that people, Joe Public, have not acquired more smarts than that? Clearly not, if you’re still actively peddling…?
I look forward to hearing and reading about active, attainable solutions. Right now, all we’re hearing is a bad regurgitation of what we already live.
Where are the new original thinkers, the outsiders? Now is your time to shine, a bit like this, perhaps?
